1. What is the Siblings’ Support Group?

 
The Siblings’ Support Group is a group of adults who have one of their siblings with a disability. In this group these siblings are given the time and space to share their experiences and their feelings during a number of sessions.

 
2. What happens during the sessions?

 
Apart from the mutual support and sharing of experiences, a number of topics are covered and guests speakers are also invited to provide more knowledge on certain topics. Some of the topics include: the siblings’ feelings; the impact of caring for a sibling juwith disability on their life decisions; and planning for the future in view of the services available. 

 
3. Who can apply for these workshops?

 
All adults who have siblings with disability can apply for these workshops.

 
4. Where can I apply?

 
You can apply for these groups by calling Aġenzija Sapport on 2256 8000 and ask for the Social Work team, which coordinates these groups.

 
5. When and where are they held?

 
These workshops are held once a month at the Agency’s Professional Development Centre in Santa Venera. There is a morning group and an evening group so to accomodate different needs of the siblings.
