The Blue Badge is a legal document.
Blue Badge holders are entitled to have the vehicle in which they are travelling, parked in communal reserved parking bays for Blue Badge holders with the Blue Badge prominently placed against the windscreen.

No fee applies for Blue Badge renewal applications.
Persons who are entitled for an EU Disability Card, issued by Aġenzija Sapport, who use and/or drive a motor vehicle on a regular basis, and who have:
◆ a permanent visual impairment resulting in a visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 in the better eye with correction, or a limit in the field of vision that is less than a 20-degree angle (tunnel vision);
◆ a severe permanent impairment in both upper limbs, who regularly drive a motor vehicle but cannot turn the steering wheel of a motor vehicle by hand even if that wheel is fitted with a turning knob;
◆ a permanent and substantial physical impairment resulting in an inability to walk or very considerable difficulty in walking or as a result of which the effort of walking could be life threatening;
◆ a severe and permanent mental impairment and with severe behavioural problems, requiring help and supervision frequently throughout the day and during the night.
The eligibility criteria are specified in the Parking Concessions for Persons with Disability Act (Cap. 560).
Those interested in applying for a Blue Badge may submit an application form electronically or download the application form (including the Medical Certificate) and submit it by hand at Aġenzija Sapport, Head Office, Patri Ġwann Azzopardi Street, Santa Venera SVR 1614.
It is the responsibility of the Blue Badge holder to apply to renew the document three (3) months before its expiry date.
Should the information on the Blue Badge document become illegible, the holder should contact Aġenzija Sapport and ask for it to be replaced.
If the Blue Badge document is lost, the holder must report it to the Police or take a sworn affidavit and submit it to Aġenzija Sapport for a new document to be issued.
The Blue Badge is a legal document and thus, in the case of the holder’s death, Aġenzija Sapport must be informed and the Blue Badge immediately returned.
Use of a Blue Badge after its date of expiry is illegal. An expired Blue Badge must be returned to Aġenzija Sapport immediately.
If the Blue Badge document is not returned, Aġenzija Sapport and the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability’s (CRPD) Enforcement Unit collaborate to request the Commissioner of Police to collect it.
The owner of the Blue Badge must never give the document to friends or family members to allow them to have the benefit of the parking concessions.
One must never make copies of the Blue Badge or change the details on such a document.
No temporary notes or documents are issued while an application is being processed to be used instead of the official documents.
The Blue Badge document is issued by Aġenzija Sapport to eligible applicants.
