The Deaf & Hard of Hearing service provides information, and guidance to support access for persons with hearing loss. The service assists individuals, families, and professionals to connect with services and communicate more effectively.
Awareness sessions are also provided to teach basic Maltese sign language. Sessions are tailor made depending on the situation and particular needs of the service users.
Collaborations and co-production is carried out with other services from Aġenzija Sapport and other entities such as FITA, CRPD, and the Sign Language Interpreting Service.
Services are beneficial for:
- Deaf and hard of hearing persons of all ages
- Persons who experience hearing loss and may use hearing aids or cochlear implants
- Families, schools, places of employment as well as other professionals
