The aim of this scheme is to provide support and financial assistance to persons with disability and their families to acquire a means of accessible transportation suitable for their needs.

This scheme offers a grant on vehicles which are strictly drive-from-wheelchair. This means that the vehicle shall have an electric ramp at the back where a wheelchair driver can access it with the wheelchair and position himself in front of the steering wheel to drive the vehicle.

The grant provided through this scheme is of 20% on the cost of the vehicle of up to €60,000 in value. This total value excludes all taxes and registration costs. This is a one-time subsidy. This means that those vehicles which already benefitted from such schemes, will not be eligible again.
