The selected candidates will form part of a transdisciplinary team in the assessment, intervention and implementation of Assistive Technology and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). S/he shall carry out service users’ assessment and other interventions related to the provision of the specialist services offered by the Access to Communication and Technology team in order to address the functional and communication needs of the service users.
As part of her/his role s/he also needs to make appropriate clinical and reasonable financial recommendations for the purchase of relevant equipment including environmental control and AAC systems. S/he shall also carry out follow up interventions as may be required.
S/he shall be a source of advice and expertise and contribute to the assessment and recommendations of strategies and assistive technology and their initial implementation. Moreover, the selected candidate shall provide advice and training in assistive technology and AAC to other professionals, students and parents/guardians. The successful candidate shall report directly to the Services Manager for operational matters and be accountable and report to the Senior Allied Health Practitioner or her/his delegate for clinical matters.

*A recognized qualification comparable to 180 ECTS/ECVET credits, as applicable, is only accepted subject to an MQRIC formal recognition statement being submitted with the application.
Candidates who have not yet formally obtained or are not yet approved for the qualification specified above will still be considered provided that they submit evidence that they are in the final phase of their course leading to such qualification. Successful applicants must obtain, or be approved, for the award of such qualification by the 31st December, 2024. If this stipulated deadline for the attainment of such qualification is not met, the agreement will be, for this reason, automatically terminated.
Furthermore, candidates who are currently following a recognised programme of study at a higher MQF level than that requested above will also be considered. Such candidates are to submit evidence that they have successfully completed the necessary ECTS/ECVET credits, or equivalent, and attained the required MQF level, by the closing time and date of the call for applications. Prospective applicants should note the requirement to produce MQRIC recognition statements in respect of their qualifications from MQRIC, or other designated authorities, as applicable, as per provisions applicable to this call for applications.
